*D* "Many of those who were my Serrada Escrima contemporaries
back in 1984, were not fully aware of the many conversations, and
heartfelt private meetings that took place between SGM Angel Cabales,
and myself in Stockton, California. Therefore! I think that it is now
the proper time to set the records straight once and for all
regarding why SGM Angel Cabales and I worked so closely together in
order to promote his beloved art. My allegiance to SGM Angel Cabales
is due to the fact that he bailed me out of a FMA promotional
situation, that could have spelled total disaster for me, and the end
results could've permanently ended my career as a bonafide martial
arts promoter, and as a bonafide martial artist as well.
In early
1984, I put together for the third time a major Filipino Martial Arts
Seminar featuring at that time 'Kali/Jeet Kune Do' legend Guro Dan
Inosanto. I had worked extremely hard in order to promote this
particular special FMA function on behalf of Guro Inosanto, my Bay
Area FMA students, and on behalf of all of those who are great fans
of Guro Dan Inosanto. I had contacted & invited several other
martial arts dignitaries from all around the Bay Area such as, the
late Professor Al Novak, the late Professor Wally Jay, GM Bill
Tolentino, Praying Mantis extraordinaire Brendan Lai, Wu Shing Tai
Chi Chuan Professor John K. Wong, Professor's Gilbert Tenio &
John Eliab, along with several other's, whom all were very much
looking forward to meeting, and experiencing the art & the
persona, FMA/Jeet Kune Do stylist of Guro Dan Inosanto.
Unfortunately,
around three days prior to this rare prospective event was to take
place, I received a telephone call from one of Guro Dan Inosanto's
assistant instructor's Guro Cass Magda, explaining to me that Guro
Inosanto was sick in Chicago, and had been admitted to a hospital,
and therefore, he could not attend my FMA promotion in California as
he had previously agreed upon. Additionally! Guro Cass Magda
explained
to me that
Guro Inosanto had instructed him to stand in his place on his behalf.
I told Guro Cass Magda that all of the people who were expecting Guro
Inosanto's appearance would be sadly disappointed if he did not show
up for his seminar. What was even worse for me, was the fact that if
Guro Dan Inosanto didn't show up, I would be considered a fraud,
charletan, and a thief, as I had already collected several pre
reservation fees in advance for the participation in this seminar.
As I
didn't choose Guro Cass Magda as a replacement on behalf of Guro
Inosanto, I knew that I was definitely in a bad quagmire. Not knowing
what to do, I began looking through the 'Old Bible Testament', and I
kept coming across the names of different Angels. And then it dawned
upon me that there was a possible way in order for me to continue the
Dan Inosanto FMA promotion.
As I had
promoted GM Rene Latosa in a special martial arts
demonstration/seminar before back in 1983, I remembered that he had
recommended me to go straight to the "Father of Escrima in
America" the legendary SGM Angel Cabales. GM Latosa had informed
me at that time that SGM Angel Cabales was the primary Escrima
instructor of Guro Dan Inosanto, and if I really wanted to master,
and promote the art of FMA, I should go and train directly under him.
So I
phoned GM Rene Latosa, and out of protocol I offered him first to
replace Guro Dan Inosanto at my FMA seminar. GM Latosa said that he
would be more than happy to take over the workshop, but unfortunately
he was already scheduled to do a seminar on the very same day as my
event. So what GM Latosa did instead; was he furnished me with three
of Stockton, California's most popular Escrima Manongs, GM Leo Giron,
Professor Gilbert Tenio, and the immaculate SGM Angel Cabales. As I
didn't have much time left before my event was to take place, I
immediately contacted all three of the Manongs mentioned as soon as
possible.
Out of the
three, two of the Manongs agreed to show up, Professor Gilbert Tenio,
along with his assistant instructor Professor John Eliab, and SGM
Angel Cabales. After explaining to SGM Angel Cabales why I was
calling upon his services, he had this to say to me "Although I
don't know you personally, because I am the Escrima teacher of Guro
Dan Inosanto, and because I am the one responsible for the emergence
of Escrima in America, I have an obligation to stand in for Danny in
order to ensure that your seminar, and Filipino martial arts is
represented in the right way". I was so impressed at SGM Angel
Cabales'' humble, and sincere attitude, that I knew instantly
that he was the 'Master Teacher' that I had always been searching
for.
Well in a
nutshell! the seminar with SGM Angel Cabales was a total success, and
it attracted not only over one hundred attendees & special guest
stars, it also attracted many major news journalists/reporters, and
various television media's to the event as well. Shortly after the
success of the Angel Cabales workshop, Guro Cass Magda in conjunction
with his mentor Guro Dan Inosanto had published in the 1985 “Official
Karate Magazine” edition, the “Sound Off”article that was
previously posted, black balling me as not being a genuine FMA Guru,
nor a bonafide martial arts promoter as well.
This event
was not only an historical event, but it also marked the beginnings
of my personal private training for the next seven years under one of
the most legendary Escrimador stick/knife fighter's that has ever
lived, SGM Angel Cabales. My special arrangement with SGM Angel
Cabales was based upon the fact that because he had saved me from
what seemed to be a perilous ending, I in turn would help him to
fulfill one of his biggest dreams; by thoroughly learning &
spreading his martial art form known as, 'Serrada Escrima' all over
the world.
This was
my special agreement & solemn promise to SGM Angel Cabales. I
once told SGM Angel Cabales prior to his death, that even though he
might not be physically in the flesh, we would always be partners no
matter what. This is why the 'WSEF' logo depicts both myself &
SGM Angel Cabales training together.
As both
myself, and SGM Angel Cabales were very much aware of the many rival
sinister forces around us that were not happy about our partnership,
and expansionism, we devised a 'master plan' in order for me to take
the art of Serrada Escrima into fertile soil overseas. Thus after a
long periodof many years of going in and out of Germany, the
"World
Serrada Escrima Federation" was born.
It is
imperative that all of my Serrada Escrima Brother's & Sister's
know that I have on a consistent non stop basis continued to promote
the art of Serrada Escrima all over the world. I have to the best of
my capabilities continued to share with all of those who are, &
were SGM Angel Cabales' students the fruits of all of my success &
labor as well.
Because
SGM Angel Cabales loved, and respected all of his students, I
automatically love & respect them also, but not when certain of
his students engage in the very sinister acts that other's have
engaged in order to defame me for the purpose of shutting the ongoing
movement of Serrada Escrima down.
The {1985
'Official Karate Magazine' Sound Off } article was republished in
order to demonstrate to the world of Serrada Escrima practitioners
that I am not the nemesis, nor am I the enemy regarding the promotion
of SGM Angel Cabales' art form, and it's various Grand Master's,
Master's, and it's many aficionados in any shape, way or form.
But their
are those certain influential personalities that have gone way above
the call of duty in the U.S.A., & abroad in order to assassinate
my character, and all of my efforts on behalf of the "Cabales
Serrada System of Escrima" in order to specifically propagate
their own FMA enterprises.
The following article was translated from a now
defunct 1996 German Martial Arts Magazine titled: "KICK SIDER"
this news release represents another prime example of how a
concerted, and well organized character assassination plot can follow
one outside one' own country.

He dedicated his whole life to
martial arts, but then he fell in love. U.S. American Anthony Davis
became known in Germany through his numerous Serrada Escrima
seminars. He's been arrested by authorities of justice at upon his
last visit in Berlin. They arrested him because he killed a business
man of Berlin, and injured his wife, in which he had a serious love
affair with. A delay of several years in the prison of Moabit or
Tegal is guaranteed. What does his wife and children will say?

I'm Fraher, that this man is
punished ... "The first observatory of nurse Simone B. (30),
after her ex-fiance, Anthony D. (35) for murder to life-long crack
was different. That was a year ago . living through now must witness
Simone as the whole horror of the process begins again. Since
yesterday, the violent death of the O1-Millionär Gerhard Malicha (t
69) re-negotiated. the bed position injured man was on August 26,
1995 been slain in his bed. Simone B. survived, and lived after
months in a coma, she suffered severe brain, and head injury. Today,
she is severely disabled, due to the course of events...the nurse had
thrown the American from their home, out of anger, and wounded pride
came Anthony D. to the Dahlem Villa. For one-he knew that Simone B.
was working there. With a baseball bat he hit, and then beat on
Simone B...the Uber life chance was low. Malicha have heard
something, go Maybe tell step calls "Anthony, no." So he
had to die as the sole witness. Now the Court wants the federal court
demanded in the new process of separation, to investigate the reason
for special attention. And even in the first
trial refuted the alibi of the Amerikner. The defense wants to call a
second physician as an expert witness. The trial continues on Tuesday
with the testimony of criminalists. They were at the bloody crime
scene. The verdict is expected for early September.
After a considerable amount of
serious complaining & strong threats to take affirmative legal
action against the Executive Editor /Michael Deubner of “KICK SIDER
MAGAZINE”
the magazine editor finally did
reluctantly print a small retraction. However! by this time, major
damage to GM *D*s martial arts reputation in Germany, & in
other parts of Europe had already been well saturated into the minds
of many of GM *D*s Serrada Escrima students & fans.
Michael Deubner never did explaine why he allowed this particualar
story to go forward without contacting GM *D* , even though he
possessed all of GM *D*s national & international contact
information. Michael Deubner never revealed to GM *D* who his
informant was that passed this very damaging & inflamatory
information over to him either.

master mistaken for murder
In our last issue, we report that
should have been arrested for murder in Berlin, Anthony Davis. In
fact, a colored man took AUTHORITIES by that name by the judiciary in
custody have been consider writing told the local press - but it is
not there at the Escrima masters, whose photo we have published
alongside the article, but another person in is not related to the
May. We hereby formally apologize to Mr. Davis and our readers for
this tragic mistake. Earlier, self-training partners have understood
the messages of the Berlin daily newspapers (with photo) as
confirming the person so that there was no reason to doubt the
identity. We deeply regret the incident, make clear, however, that
the confusion was done without any intention. We are therefore
announcing the upcoming seminars by Mr. Davis.

Again
the information that has been shared by GM *D*, reflects
chronicles of actual history of one of the many character
assasination attempts upon his life, and upon his genuine efforts in
establishing the art of 'Serrada Escrima' worldwide. GM *D*
has requested that for the sake of continuing the 'Grand Legacy' of
Supreme Grand Master Angel O. Cabales, that all of those who truly do
wish to unite in the name of 'Serrada Escrima' that they do so by
standing strong together in harmony, unity, and in universal love. If
all of the main body of Serrada Escrimador's can come together as one
concerted 'fist'...then in this way the legacy of “Supreme Grand
Master” Angel O. Cabales will last from generation-to-generation.
